Snowed In

Well, everyone can blame me. Last night the ice storm started. Icy sleet started pouring down around 8pm and from neighbor accounts, didn't turn to snow until close to 3 or 4am.

Beginning of last night's ice storm.

When we woke up this morning, we found that we are completely snowed in until the plows can finally get to us (according to the news, at least a day or two). As of right now, we've gotten between 8 and 10 inches of snow and it's still coming down.

The same shot as above, only taken this morning this time. The neigbor's car is completely snowed in. All of Peoria is closed at least until noon today. Bret's gone out to brave the elements to shovel us paths around the house and the dog won't set foot outside. The kids are ready to go out but I'm making them wait until the snow stops falling so they don't freeze any more body parts off than need be.

Ashley watches through the patio door as Bret clears the kids a path down to the yard.

Ryan can't wait to jump into this pile of snow. I have a feeling someone is going to have to pull him out, though.

Now let's just pray that the power doesn't go out. We have a history of that in this neighborhood. At least I just went grocery shopping on Tuesday so we're good for a few days.

Doesn't look like anyone is going anywhere today.

It's up to your knees in the street and some of the drifts are up to our waist.
