Reading

I received this book as a Christmas gift from my aunt last week. I had declared yesterday as a lazy day, picked up the book and started to read it, and wasn't able to put it down until I was finished. I have to say that I was under the impression that this was a true story after reading the foreword and continued to believe so throughout the book, which may be why I was able to read it so quickly. While I was relieved that the little girl in the story was not real and did not go through the unthinkable, I felt a little betrayed by the author when I went to the book's website and found that none of it was real. That said, this is still one of the best books I've read in a long time. I won't get into the details of the book for fear of ruining it for someone that still has yet to read it, but it really makes you think on a deeper level.

I've seen the book but got the idea that it was going to end with preaching of some sort (does it?), so I didn't pick it up. I'm glad to hear you liked it, and I would also have been annoyed to find out something presented as fact was fiction. Maybe I'll read it anyway.

It's very preachy in the middle and I ended up skimming through most of it, but the beginning and end were really good. I actually started wondering if it was fiction or if the "real person" it was about had lost his mind because it seemed so preachy at times. It's a bit out there - that's for sure - but very well written.

Hi! I'm sorry I missed your one-year quit anniversary, CONGRATS!!! I'm so happy for you! I know the blogging made a huge difference for me. It's so reassuring to have an entire litte community going through the exact same thing, and hanging in there together. Again, congratulations!

Looks like you had a nice Christmas. I am also glad it's over -- I was WAY too busy to relax and enjoy anything.

Mack is so cute! Keep the pics coming!
